This will probably be the last post this month. Wondering why I'd stop posting in the middle of the month?

We're going to Florida!

I'm slightly less than thrilled about the whole thing. Reason number one: I don't like heat. Nope. Summer's my least favorite time of the year. Florida is a very hot place, ergo . . .

Reason number two: NO COMPUTER!!! Nope. I know! How will Shannon and I survive it?

Well, there is a public library near my grandparents. One can only hope we'll be able to get a computer there, so we won't be completely out of things.

There is a bright side to this, of course. I'll come home with lots of pictures, and then I'll post them here. Lots and lots of pictures. As long as I don't lose my camera off the side of the boat. Yes, that has indeed happened. In our family. Really. I'm not lying. Ask any of us.

And tomorrow we have a lovely, three hour long, dress rehearsal. And Sunday we have the concert. And we're singing and playing in church (the song we're doing rocks! The one we're playing, not so much the one we're singing.) And then we have a 4H meeting. Wow, all of those sentences started with and.

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Some poems rhyme,
This one doesn't.

Funny, huh? Thanks to Peter for that one. Happy belated Valentines Day.

See you in two weeks. Or . . . whatever.

Cheers,
McKenna

More pictures for you.

Doesn't this one show how delightful Aislinn is? In case you're wondering, that's John under there.
Shannon, who reputably dislike pancakes, decided to take all my leftover batter to make a really, really big pancake. She managed to flip it which is more than can be said for some of us.
Hanging out at the Southards' today.

Not much else to say. Ri, Wes and Shan have their first Youth Orchestra practice, their auditions are next Saturday. I will be starting next fall, on viola.

Starting on the Easter cantata with the church choir. Fun fun fun.

Cheers,
McKenna

Since You've Been Asking for Pictures . . .

Lovely weather we've been having, don't you think?

We had octet practice today, kinda. See, out of the four violins, two violas and two cellos we're supposed to have, we only had four violins and one cello, owing to some kind of bug going around. Fun time sightreading with a missing section.

Laura, after practice.

Left to right, Laura, Lesley and Riley; one of the three sets of Southards/Parish triplets. There's also Elizabeth, Mustard and myself, and Shannon and Anna. They count as three people.

Cheers,

McKenna

Superbowl

So this year we went to the church sponsored party at the Southard's.

You may be wondering if I watched any of the game.

Yeah right.

You may also be wondering if I took any pictures.

Yup. Kinda. Just of Elizabeth in her attempts to look "glam."

You should have seen her in person. The camera doesn't do it justice. For instance, where did all that green eyeliner go?

I do know who won. Not that I care, or anything. I don't want you getting any ideas about me and football. Ugh.

Cheers,
McKenna

Insomnia

Annoying, isn't it? I have this thing where once it's past five or so, I can't get back to sleep. On weekends, holidays and vacations. School days I can't stay awake. Well, not really- that's Shannon- once I'm really up, I'm up. Why is it that on a Monday, I am incapable of getting up before eight, but on a Saturday- like today- I'm awake at six and there's no going back?

Not like I was really sleeping. I dozed off in front of the basement computer, who knows when. Late. Or early, whichever way you look at it.

Anyway, I'm awake now, and I spent twenty minutes realizing I'm not getting back to sleep. So I made myself a nice breakfast- fried eggs, toast and hot cocoa, and now I'm blogging.

Yes, Shannon, I am aware that I haven't put any pictures up lately. Maybe you should do something interesting enough for me to get the camera out? Or let me post some of the pictures I already have ;) heh heh heh

And now I can't think of anything else to say, so bye for now.

HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY!

Cheers,
McKenna
